Engel to build molding machines in Keystone State

Issue: June 2018

Engel Holding GmbH will begin assembling injection molding presses by the end of the year at its facility in York, Pa., as part of the largest investment program in the company’s history.

The company made the announcement during a press conference at NPE. Engel will invest $450 million by 2020 to modernize and expand capacities at production facilities worldwide.

Engel currently employs 210 people in North America, which is one of its strongest markets, officials said. This is about 25 percent more versus 2017, and the company is planning a similar increase in employment this year. New positions have been added in after-sales service, application technology and automation.

“Thanks to the business units in America, we can also respond to the requirements and requests of our customers in the various industries even faster, and can provide them with even more targeted support in meeting their very individual challenges,” said Christoph Steger, chief sales officer of the Engel Group.
