DJA becomes distributor for LS Mtron machines in U.S.

Issue: June 2018

Daiichi Jitsugyo America (DJA), Wood Dale, Ill., has become a distributor for injection molding machines from LS Mtron Ltd., Anyang, South Korea, after officials reached an agreement at NPE.

LS Mtron’s products will give DJA customers access to larger-tonnage, two-platen injection molding machines with clamping forces ranging from 550 tons to 3,600 tons, said Peter Gardner, VP of sales and GM for DJA’s Plastics Machinery division. Those customers also now have access to servo-hydraulic-type toggle machines.

LS Mtron has sold injection molding machines in the U.S. since the 1970s but under different names. In the 1970s, the machines were sold under the Lucky-Goldstar brand. More recently, the company was selling as LG and operating as part of the LG Group that sells televisions, electronics and appliances to U.S. consumers.

Howard Chung, LS Mtron’s head of overseas sales, said that DJA’s road sales and service network aligns with LS Mtron’s strategy to be in the top seven global makers of injection molding machines.
