In Memory: Industry vet Siebolt Hettinga dies at 90

Siebolt Hettinga, whose 50-year career in the plastics industry produced 100 patents, died March 27 at the age of 90.

Hettinga was born in Balk, The Netherlands, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1948. His firm, Hettinga Technologies Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa, was known for innovations such as multistation, low-pressure injection molding machines.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanine; son, George; brother, John Hettinga; and sister, Betty v.d. Woude-Hettinga of The Netherlands.
