New Fusion3 printer is appropriate for short runs, prototyping

Issue: October 2018

F410 Fusion3’s newest fused-filament-fabrication 3-D printer is capable of both rapid part prototyping and short production runs, and can use a wide range of materials, including PET/PET-glycol, ABS, carbon-fiber-filled materials and nylon. It comes with a 0.4mm print head for the finest detail. Interchangeable 0.6mm and 0.8mm heads are available, offering faster print speeds for applications where lower resolution is acceptable. The printer, which costs $4,599, can produce parts as large as 14 inches by 14 inches by 12.4 inches.

What’s new? The model, an upgrade from the F400. It has an updated touch-screen interface, extruder and 32-bit on-board controller. The extruder’s filament detection feature allows customers to resume printing where they left off in the event that the printer jams or runs out of filament.

Benefits Improved print quality and near-silent operation. For users’ convenience, the printer can be operated through a secure, web-based interface. It comes with a two-year warranty, as well as free lifetime phone and email support.
