3D Systems' desktop printer targets engineers, designers
FabPro 1000 3D Systems is entering the industrial desktop 3-D printing market with the FabPro 1000, an entry-level production printer for engineers and designers. The rugged and compact printer is appropriate for low-volume, small-part prototyping and direct 3-D production using a range of plastic materials, including engineering resins.
What’s new? Commercial availability. Announced last year, the FabPro 1000 became available in May.
Benefits Affordability, quality and speed. Priced at less than $5,000, it has a lower total cost of ownership than competing printers and prints up to three times faster. It produces high-quality parts with smooth surface finishes and provides consistent, repeatable run times. The machine’s 3D Sprint software makes it easy to prep, print and monitor jobs. Material loading, file configuration and post-processing are streamlined for a simple user experience.
