Seco's latest insert drills are laser-hardened

Issue: December 2017

Perfomax Seco’s indexable insert drills come in a variety of spindle insert styles and sizes. The square drills offer four cutting edges and have through-coolant holes on all sides. To optimize chip removal, the drills’ surfaces have a low-friction coating.

What’s new? A new line, called the 500 series, featuring improved helix angles and smoother chip flute exits. The drills now also are made of a harder material and then laser hardened.

Benefits Added strength, stability and accuracy for greater drilling performance and longer tool life. Designed with Seco’s engineered wave pattern, which minimizes contact between chips and flute surfaces, the drills boast efficient chip evacuation.
