Lifting magnet gets upgraded controls

Type PEP 500i magnet Braillon Magnetics SA, Sainte-Hélène-du-Lac, France, has upgraded its electro-permanent lifting magnet with an integrated control unit. The controls allow operators to initiate or stop magnetization while working directly at the unit, and require no additional setup. The lifting magnets, which can be attached to a hoist to move molds, are available in a range of sizes and strengths, with the ability to hold molds weighing up to 2,866 pounds.

What’s new? The system, which has been available over the past few months in the U.S. through Braillon’s subsidiary, Braillon Magnetic Systems Inc.
