Water-cooled TCUs work at high temps
Temperature control unit This line of TCUs from HB-Therm AG, St. Gallen, Switzerland, is appropriate for use in medical injection molding applications where process validation is critical, as well as for molding other small, precision parts. It features a tankless design, seal-free pumps and a compact footprint. The high-efficiency units are available in the U.S. and Canada through Frigel, which will have them on display at its NPE2018 booth.
What’s new? Two new water-cooled units that can operate at higher temperatures. Previously, HB-Therm’s water TCUs were suited for temperatures up to 356 degrees Fahrenheit; one of the new units is designed for temperatures up to 392 degrees Fahrenheit, the other is for temperatures up to 446 degrees Fahrenheit.
Benefits Safety. Processors can use the water TCUs instead of oil units for most applications, eliminating hazards and contamination risks associated with hot oil leaks.
